Acts 2:47b tells us, And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.  The Lord has blessed Mount Calvary with a great harvest.  As the church continues to grow, the Pastoral Care Ministry is there as an extension to the Pastor to meet the needs of the people. The advice that God gave Moses through his father- in-law in Exodus chapter 18 is the suitable for us today. The people are too many for one person.  Pastoral Care is building a sense of community within Mount Calvary by reaching out and ministering to the special needs of members and the local communities.  Through the Mount Calvary Family Care Plan, the Deacons, Deaconesses, the Ministers and their Spouses have formed teams capable of reaching every member and ministering to their individual needs both physical and spiritual.  The Lord said in Ezekiel 34:11 that He will search for His missing sheep and look after them. Pastoral Care, through the Family Care Plan, will search for our missing members, bring them back to the church and look after them.

Except that of the Pastor, no office in church is more important than that of the Deacon and Deaconess. Christ called us to serve and the church has trusted us to serve and to work effectively for the Pastor through the Pastoral Care Ministry.  Our focus is service to the membership, the sick, the missing, the weak and the needy. We prepare and assist with communion and served those who are not able to come to the church due to physical conditions.  We prepare candidates for baptism and assist with baptism.  We are an extension to the Pastor. Jesus said in Matthew 25:35-36, For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.  The Pastor can’t do all of this alone. We are here to help him and to serve God by serving you. The Deacon Ministry is lead by Deacon Marion Aiken, Chairman maiken@mountclvarychurch.org, and Deacon Anthony Walker, Vice Chairman awalker@mountcalvarychurch.org .  The Deaconess Ministry is lead by Deaconess Sarita Robinson, Chairman srobinson@mountcalvarychurch.org .
