Change In Worship Services Blog
God has given our Pastor a vision for two (2) additional worship services.  Beginning October 2010, an additional service will be held at the Suisun Campus and one at the Fairfield Campus.  We welcome your thoughts and/or comments.

There are some tremendous benefits to our community by expanding what is excellent. And, we have an awful lot of excellence at Mount Calvary. Excellence is flexible and good grows great. In terms of quality of service, energy levels and the big one - the willingness to serve in a consistant manner, I pray every day that God will raise up from within or send from other places more servants who are committed, energetic, passionate, on fire, next level thinkers who can duplicate themselves by training, mentoring and recruiting others. Balance. We need a small Army of great ministry teams serving in every area in order to grow in balance minus burnout. John Maxwell said: If better is possible then good is not good enough". Let''s make it happen.

As a volunteer in the A/V department, I often see the struggle we have with getting enough help to cover the services we currently have. I am very concerned that we may not be able to fully staff all requirements the new services will bring to our department without exhausting our volunteers. I appreciate the vision our pastor and church has and the growth that we are experiencing, but there is concern on the strain it may cause without more volunteers. Prayers have been sent up for God to watch over our church and make it as successful as it can be.

As forestated, it just seems like a great undertaken for our Pastor, so as a member and believer I will continue to pray for his strength. I believe we need to revisit the option of moving Holy communion and Baptism to an evening event. My concerns are: 1) Elderly people usually do not come out to evening events and I would hate to see them miss out. 2) Baptism at night, with winter approaching, may not be the most healthy way to do it; with cold and flu season forthcoming. I am sure all of these have been addressed.

I am also concerned with Baptism and communion being moved. Some people travel really far but the press their way for communion and baptism. I also hope we don''t stop fellowship. As a newer member that is one thing that drew me to Mount Calvary. That made it very special for me and my son. Those "small" things make a "big" difference. I was always fearful of big churches but that really made my day. I am concerned about not having volunteers. I am praying we get more help because if not the ones that volunteer will be burned out. I am supporting my pastor no matter what.

I am also concerned about Baptism and communion moving to night service. I travel from Sacramento to church. I know that I can find another church to go to for communion during the day. I would prefer to have communion with my own church family. I will also continue to support my pastor as he do the work that God has call him to do for the good of the church as the church grows.

I honestly feel that adding two more services would physically, emotionally and spiriturally tax and take its toll on the pastor in future months. However, if there is another minister who can take the burden off the pastor, I am in agreement. Also, I stand in agreement with my fellow parishers, that moving communion and baptism to the evening would not be a good idea.

My original message was sent on July 1 with these concerns: communion, timeliness, fellowship, youth services, babes in Christ who are not connected to the church... but more importanly our Pasor with respect to his health, family and other obligations.God told Pastor and that''s where my trust lies. We must continue to lift him upin prayer and not be doubtful because of change. God Bless

As I am EXTREMELY excited with what God is doing at Mt. Calvary, I am concerned about 1 obstacle I am now face with as a result of the changes that will take effect in October 2010.
I am a business traveler who resides in Fairfield, but I am blessed to work all over the US. My workweek begins Sunday (after service), and ends Thursday nights. With the new changes, I will miss communion indefinitely. Communion is now on Tuesdays, and I will not be in the state of California. Are there absolutely no other options at Mt. Calvary for communion? Please respond.
God bless.
